Woolmer's Death is Murder

It has been revealed today that the Jamaican police are now treating Bob Woolmer's death as murder. This event is tragedic in the extreme and issure to rock the world of cricket to its roots. Sorting through the conspiracy theories and misinformation is a major task, so I am not going to even attempt it.

Cricinfo have the full Police Statement.

Should the World Cup go on ?
It is a question which has been raised by players, fans and commentators. In my opinion it MUST go on. To shelve cricket's showpiece would be an insult to Bob Woolmer's memory. Bob Woolmer was passionate about the sport and sure as hellfire wouldn't want to see the World Cup stopped for ANYTHING. I feel now that it would be appropriate if South Africa ended up winning the tournament and whoever the final victors are, it is sure to bean emotionally charged journey from here on in. Cricinfo have, as always, done a marvellous job of putting together an obituary to Bob Woolmer, so rather than post my own, pale immitation, please take a moment to honour the memory of a great man who will be sadlymissed by cricket lovers everywhere.

Bob Woolmer Obituary.
